Dr. Mindset

Mark is an artist, animator, educator, and entrepreneur with extensive experience across diverse media platforms—including laser light shows, broadcast television, video games, visual effects for animated and live-action films, and immersive performance animation.

He has received numerous awards for his work, most recently the Best of Show Award at the SIGGRAPH Asia 2023 Computer Animation Festival in Sydney, Australia, for Moirai, Thread of Life. His professional experience includes visual effects work at major studios such as DreamWorks SKG and Rhythm & Hues Studios and contributions to the gaming industry at Acclaim Entertainment, where he developed titles for the PlayStation platform.

Recent highlights include Echoes octurne at AEC, an interactive dance and animation performance showcased at the Deep Space 8K Theater during Ars Electronica Festival 2020, and Quantum LOGOS (Vision Serpent), exhibited at the Global Digital Summit of Digital Art at the Guizhou Provincial Museum in China. His work has also been featured at LASIGGRAPH 2022/12 and SIGGRAPH Asia 2022 in Daegu, South Korea, as part of The Future Past v. Coloniality: Decolonial Media Art Beyond 530 Years.

Mark’s current practice focuses on generative AI techniques in animation and design. Through works like Moirai, Thread of Life and Mitla | Underworld, he combines expressive abstraction with anthropomorphic storytelling to explore contemporary scientific and philosophical ideas. His work is exhibited internationally at immersive installations, film festivals, and online through digital platforms and social media.

As a presenter and researcher, Mark has shared his work at global conferences, screenings, and art exhibitions. He remains dedicated to pushing the creative boundaries of generative AI animation and continues to innovate in this rapidly evolving field.
